4. What is a Christian?
A Christian is someone who, by the power and work of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, believes in and confesses JEsus as Savior and Lord. Through Baptism, a Christian is adopted into the Father's family, the Church.
Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"Romans 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
1 Corinthians 6:11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 12:3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says "Jesus is accursed!" and no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except in the Holy Spirit.
