Daily Walk in the Catechism

30. `What does it mean to trust in God above all things?

It means that we rely on God to take care of us and to keep all of His promises to us.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength."

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.

Philippians 4:5-6 The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Read Proverbs 3:5-10 and Psalm 115:4; note the various ways that we trust or do not trust God. Our Lord Jesus perfectly trusted His Father in all things (see Luke 23:46).
