Daily Walk in the Catechism

239. Do my prayers need to be in a polished form or in a set pattern of words?

As dear children of our heavenly Father, we pray through faith in Christ, even if our words are simple and unadorned. As Christians, we also have access to a rich treasury of prayers in the Scriptures, liturgy, and devotional writings. See also "Simple Prayer" in the Appendix.

Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings to deep for words.
