185. What does it mean for us to speak of Jesus as our King?
As our King, Jesus rules over all creation, especially for the good of His Church.
Colossians 1:17-18 And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the Church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything He might be preeminent.
John 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But My kingdom is not from the world."
Ephesians 1:20, 22-23 [God] raised Him [Christ Jesus] from the dead and seated Him at His right hand. ... And He put all things under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
