Daily Walk in the Catechism

165. Why did God send His Son to rescue us?

As our loving Creator, He had compassion on us.

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmity between you [Satan] and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

1 John 4:10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
