Daily Walk in the Catechism

151. What does it mean to confess that Jesus is true God?

The Son is God in the very same sense that the Father is God--namely, He existed from all eternity and, together with the Father and the Spirit, created the entire universe and everything within it.

John 1:3 All things were made through Him [the Word], and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

1 Corinthians 8:6 Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

Colossians 1:16-17 For by Him all things were created, in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

The Nicene Creed says of the Lord Jesus Christ: "by whom all things were made."
