147. What are some of our stewardship responsibilities?
A. We are to care for our bodies.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
B. We are to care for our possessions and finances.
Proverbs 10:4-5 A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.

C. We are to care for our neighbors, both in their physical needs and in their need to know the love of God and all that He has done for them in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven.
1 Peter 4:10-11 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies--in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To Him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

D. We are to care for the church, church workers, and church property.
1 Chronicles 29:12-13, 16 In Your hand are power and might, and in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. And now we thank You, our God, and praise Your glorious name. ... O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided for building You a house for Your holy name comes from Your hand and is all Your own.
1 Timothy 5:17-18 Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, "You shall not muzzle the ox when it treads out the grain," and, "The laborer deserves his wages."

E. We are to care for the rest of God's creation: the earth, its bounty, and all life.
