Daily Walk in the Catechism

132. For whom does God care and provide within His creation?

Because God cares for His entire creation,

A. He provies for His entire nonhuman creation;

Psalm 147:8-9 He covers the heavens with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes grass grow on the hills. He gives to beasts their food, and to the young ravens that cry.

Psalm 145:15-16 The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand; You satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

B. He provides for all people, even those who fail to acknowledge Him;

Matthew 5:45 For He makes His sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Acts 14:16-17 In past generations He allowed all the nations to walk in thier own ways. Yet He did not leave Himself without witness, for He did good by giving you rains from Heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.

C. He provides for us, who are His children in Christ.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

1 Peter 5:7 [Cast] all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.
