Daily Walk in the Catechism

121. How did God create everything?

A. God created by His Word. He spoke creation into existence, forming and filling it in six days.

Genesis 1:1, 3, 31 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. ... And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. ... And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Psalm 33:6, 9 By the Word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host. ... For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.

Read Genesis 1; Exodus 31:17; Hebrews 11:3; and 2 Peter 3:5-7.

B. By His Word, God made all His creation very good (harmonious, beautiful, pure).

Genesis 1:31 And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good.
